The Chef, originally from Bangladesh, since a young age he had a desire to go into the world of catering, of kitchens and of restaurants from influence of his family. His influences came from his native Indian background and also using this knowledge to mix some European and English influences to his dishes. With over 25 years of experience he has gained recognition for his unique style, taste and excellence of cooking.

Cook

He describes his cooking “as a tempting combination of exotic flavours and spices mixed with the freshest of local ingredients, always with an emphasis on Indian cuisine”. Born in Bangladesh, he was trained in the Netherlands, where he got most of his experience from he has a mixture of influences from his roots which is the sub-continent and also the European influences which followed.

Tandoori chef

Throughout his career he has refined his skills in this area and Sylhet Balti's menu represents his finest work to date. With no standardised recipes, skills were picked up from his mother and by working with the best Tandoori chefs. He is known as the “sizzler” as he can cook up a Tandoori dish and it will be hard to resist with the mixture of unique spices and elegant flavours.
